Here's an avocado grilled cheese with ingredients that can actually help control type 2 diabetes. Sourdough bread has been studied and shown to be beneficial in controlling blood sugar. (Remember each person may have a different response to bread, so choose the one you do best with.)

Avocados are low in carbs and contain monounsaturated fats which are considered to be a heart healthy fat. Tomatoes are low in carbs and high in fiber which also helps moderate blood glucose levels. Oh yeah, and besides the health benefits, this avocado grilled cheese sandwich just tastes amazing!!

  • Tomato- use fresh tomatoes, washed and thinly sliced.
  • Avocado- Slice thinly.
  • Cheese- use your favorite.
